FAQ | AgriTech ebook and Optimal Dairy™ Audits
Common questions about working with Optimal Dairy
What is the difference between e-books and audits?
E-books teach you how to think and make decisions on a modern farm.
Audits make specific decisions based on data from your farm.
E-book = organizing your thinking.
Audit = organizing your system and results.
For whom are e-books alone enough?
For owners, managers, and advisors who: are preparing for an investment, want to understand PLF without marketing and information chaos, and want to make better decisions independently.
If your goal is to truly improve the financial performance of your herd, an e-book isn’t enough.
When does an audit make the most sense?
When you have data but lack clear decisions, you’re planning an investment (robot, healthcare systems, monitoring), and you feel like money is “leaving,” but you don’t know exactly where. An audit puts an end to the guesswork and clears your priorities.
What is this audit NOT?
This isn’t an audit or inspection, certification, a subsidy report, or a sale of technology or equipment. It’s a decision-making audit. If the technology doesn’t improve the bottom line, I don’t recommend purchasing it.
Why are input data crucial and without them an audit is pointless?
An audit isn’t based on opinions, but on data.
Without reliable input, it’s impossible to correctly diagnose the causes of problems; you can only guess.
If the data is incomplete, inconsistent, or incomparable over time, the first step in an audit is to organize and verify it.
Only then are accurate decisions possible. Without data, an audit is a conversation. With data, it becomes a decision-making tool.
What if my data is incomplete or chaotic?
This is standard practice on most farms.
An audit doesn’t assume perfect data, only real, daily work. The first step is separating the signal from the noise and identifying which data has real decision-making significance. If the data doesn’t allow for a reliable diagnosis, we don’t proceed until it’s sorted out.
How quickly can I see results after the audit?
First results usually appear within 3–6 months, with full impact within 6–12 months. Most often: Fewer health losses, shorter barren periods, better feed utilization, and smoother workflow. These are not promises. They are the consequence of better decisions.
Does an audit guarantee profit growth?
No.
An audit doesn’t change the outcome; it changes the decisions. If the decisions are implemented, the effect is measurable.
If not, the outcome remains unchanged.
When is it NOT worth buying an audit?
If: you’re not ready to change your mind, you’re looking for confirmation, you’re hoping for a “technological miracle.” In such cases, an audit makes no sense.
How to choose the right audit?
Starter Audit, you want to know where you’re losing money. Pro Audit, you want to know what to change and in what order. Strategic Audit, you want to decide what to invest in and what not to do in the coming years. The higher the audit level, the less technology and more management decisions.
After the audit, am I left alone with the recommendations?
No.
Each audit concludes with a decision-making discussion and a clear action plan. In a strategic audit, a follow-up discussion is also held after six months to assess what actually worked.
Is this a business expense?
Yes. This is a fully billable, advisory and strategic service for farms, consulting firms, and financial institutions. A VAT invoice is standard.
Is the audit conducted exclusively remotely?
Yes. I work exclusively remotely. The audit is based on: production and health data, systems structure, and decision-making discussions with the owner and team. Physical presence does not improve the quality of decisions if the data is accurate. Remote work: shortens implementation time, eliminates the “visit effect” and false conclusions, and allows you to focus on facts, not impressions. If the input data is reliable, a remote audit is as effective, and often more effective, than an on-site audit.
